Chris Rene admits he had nothing to lose in the X Factor

 United States X Factor finalist Chris Rene has admitted that that he had nothing to lose when he appeared for the first audition in front of the judges. The singer claimed that he had already decided that he wanted
to be a singer and that he will take the competition seriously, in case he progresses further.

Rene ended up third in the Reality show behind Melanie Amaro and Josh Krajcik. The singer had revealed on the show that he was recently released from rehab for getting treatment for drinking and wants to remain clean for his son.

He insisted that he wanted to change the life he was living at that time and wanted to do something worthy in his life which could make his son proud of him. He admitted that he relished the chance given to sing in front of some
of the best people this country has seen and is pleased with the reception.

“Let me tell you, I had nothing to lose at that point. In that kind of life that I’d been living, you’ve got a lot to lose. And being clean and sober, fresh out of rehab – whether I was in the spotlight or wherever – that chance
to be on the stage and show them who I was, that meant more to me than anything,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.

The ‘Young Homie’ singer stated that he is extremely satisfied with his performance on the show and is hopeful of making his name in the music industry.

“I did not have fear about it at all; I only had happiness about it. I was proud that I actually had the guts to go up there and audition, straight out of rehab. I can’t say that it boosted my confidence, but it gave more meaning
to my music, you know?” he concluded.

Chris Rene sang his original ‘Young Homie’ in the final of the competition and was awarded the third place behind Melanie and Josh.
