PML-N seems bewildered

In the current political scenario, the PML-N appeared to have to be a bewildered party. Has the party been run by post-exile Nawaz Sharif, who looks to have been learned structure and dynamics of constitutional democracies?

Or is it the party of Nawaz Sharif who submitted a petition in the apex court, on the basis of an unsigned paper written by a dubious character US citizen, to save our national sovereignty.

Or is it the party of Shahbaz Sharif, the Chief Minister of Punjab, who makes constant visits to Rawalpindi to get energy.

Or is it the party of Khawaja Asif, the Sialkot-based MNA, who defended decision of the premier not to apologize to the army chief over his (Gilani) statement to a Chinese newspaper about army and ISI chiefs.

Such confusion prevails in many minds of people. Such type of bewilderment is increasing pains of immaturity for the party.

In the present scenario, it seems that ANP, PPP, and Baloch Nationalists are representing the anti-establishment lot of the country.

However, the case of PML-N looks quite different as few figures of the party are in favor of establishment while rest of the voices is against the military dominance.

The party according to some people would have had a great knife to grind at this time. It was the same party whose prime minister was booted out of his office, sending him to Saudi Arabia for a forceful exile.

As contradicted to the previous martial laws where there had been tumult, aggression or the prospect of aggression, the situation was not dissimilar to the past.

Asma Jehangir, a renowned lawyer after resigning for former ambassador to US Hussain Haqqani, said that the petition filed for the memogate will help the similar forces to make a comeback and bite those who filed it.

An unthinking approach to the role of military in civilian matter will not help anyone at any level.

It even will not do well for those parties who groomed by such forces. The PML-N will have to adopt a clear line, whether right or left, if wants to serve major party of the country.
