Supreme Court of Pakistan maintains its stance

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has maintained its stance and re stated that the Prime Minister of Pakistan Yousuf Raza Gilani should have written to the Swiss probe in order to re start the investigation against the President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari.

The government ruled by the Pakistan People’s Party had been repeatedly asked by the Supreme Court of Pakistan so that an investigation in which Asif Ali Zardari was named for being involved in corruption charges could be restarted. Asif Ali Zardari as well
as Bhutto were accused of being involved in money laundering.

However, the investigation against both the parties was put to a stop by the National Reconciliation Ordinance which was signed by Bhutto during the time that the President of the country was Gen. (Retd) Pervez Musharraf. However, the apex court of Pakistan
had deemed the NRO as illegal that in effect called for the re starting of the investigation against the President of Pakistan.

As the Supreme Court’s orders were not being complied with, Yusuf Raza Gilani was asked to appear before the court in order to give an explanation for his actions. The Prime Minister of Pakistan has stated that the President of the country enjoys complete
immunity both within and outside the country which is why the investigation cannot be re started.

The lawyer of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Aitzaz Ahsan, expressed himself on the matter in the following manner: “The Article 248 (1) partly provides immunity to the prime minister. Gilani was advised by his law secretary to take this step. The prime
minister himself is a layman and he can’t read the detailed verdict issued by the court in NRO implementation case.”

On the other hand, the Supreme Court of Pakistan has given the following comments on the matter at hand: “If you can convince us, then we will withdraw our notice; otherwise, we will frame charges against the prime minister.”

The changes that might take place in the political scenario of the country remains to be seen as the decision of the Supreme Court of Pakistan is yet to be taken.

    Gilani – Guilty of Contempt.

    Zardari – Guilty of Corruption.

    Imprisonment for both.

What Supreme Court? Those clowns in drags couldn’t even enforce their own decisions (NRO) and wouldn’t travel abroad in the name of justice to interview Mansoor Ejaz, yet for praise they’re only too happy!!! Also, have they actually heard of tele-conferencing? Last time I read the law in Pakistan, modern technologies were permissible in a court…
Lame stalwarts of this wonderful democracy…
Forget Zardari and Gilani, these people make my blood boil!!
