Ali Zafar happy as Pakistani government agrees to bear the expenses of Mehdi Hassan’s treatment

For the past several years the King of Ghazal, Mehdi Hassan, is suffering from a serious lung condition as a result to which he was admitted to the Aga Khan Hospital in Karachi on January 11 this year. The ghazal maestro was even put on a ventilator but there was no response from the government. However, now the Information Minister of Sindh, Shazia Marri, has finally offered to bear expenses of Mr. Hassan’s treatment and this news has delighted Ali Zafar, who is currently in India for his upcoming movie, ‘London, Paris and New York’.

The 31-year-old Ali Zafar told the media Mehdi Hassan is one of the greatest singers and there will not be anyone like him will ever come. The artist further stated Mehdi Hassan is an as an inspiration to many out there, including him.

“The government has taken the right steps. I’m happy to hear they’ve taken charge of his medical facilitations. I’ll pray for his health.”

“He is a great asset to music. There is no singer like him, never was and never can be,” said a relieved Ali.

Governor Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ebad Khan has also presented a cheque of worth Rs1million for Mr. Hassan’s medical treatment. Moreover, a park situated in Block-N, North Nazimabad has also been named after the renowned ghazal singer of Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Ali, who dedicated a song to Mr. Hassan in his latest album ‘Jhoom Jaane maan’, is currently busy in India in order to promote his upcoming film for which he recently performed live in front of the audiences as well.

Normally Ali composes his own music but the singer insists it becomes very difficult when one is doing a movie.

“Everyone claims to be different. I have tried to come up with tracks that have never been heard before. Now it’s for the public to judge,” says Ali who has sung all the male vocals.
