The FBI today released a report on Steve Jobs’ work back in 1991, when the employer was nominated for a position in the government of former President George HW Bush. The founder of Apple, who presided NeXT back then, had become an international trade adviser to the president and, like any other candidate, became subject to inquiries from the authorities.

“Several individuals questioned the honesty of Jobs saying that he twists the truth and distorts reality to achieve his goals,” said the report, which also detailed the complaints pending against Jobs. Jobs once became a victim to bomb threat in 1985, and requested the President of the US for a position in the White House.

The document consisted of 191 pages and included everything from interviews conducted by FBI agents on Steve Jobs. The Bureau also collected statements of the employees and people close to him, to his family, and also his work history.

Jobs responded to questions as if he had breached a professional ethical code and complained to a judge about it. The authorities asked If he had been a candidate of any political party before or had been a part of an organization that discriminated against people because of their sex , race or religion. To all these questions Jobs answered no. The founder of Apple stated that he had ever claimed bankruptcy, or had loans to repay and did not belong to a communist group or had tried to overthrow the government.

Citing a University partner, whose name has been withheld by the FBI, an agent stated that “Jobs consumed illegal drugs like marijuana and LSD in his academic days” something that was corroborated with several other people. On the other hand, some other sources said that at the time of the investigation Jobs “only drank a little wine.”
