Understand Islam before judging it

Islam is being maligned by the international media around the globe. It is indeed disappointing to find the pseudo-civilized countries fail to comprehend the reality and lose their ability to differentiate between facts and fabrications.

Millions around the world believe that terrorism and Islam go hand in hand. It is a rather absurd assumption to make, especially for the people who have not even bothered to educate themselves about what it preaches. Contradictory to what the international
media claims, Islam does not allow the killing of a human and refers to the murder of one human as a death of an entire race.

However, the penalty of death is permissible in Islam, but that is limited to severe cases and only allowed after due investigation into the matter has been done. The sole purpose of allowing this death penalty is to keep others away from committing that
heinous crime and thus eradication it from a society completely.

Islam also does not allow hatred towards another religion, be it Christians, Hindus or even Jews. If a Muslim carries hate in his heart for a particular religion, then it his entirely his fault and he alone is to be blamed for it. The burden of his spite
cannot be put on Islam. Becoming a Muslim does not in any way mean that a person starts representing the true nature of his religion. If that was the case, wouldn’t Christianity and Judaism get maligned because of one sinful follower? The actual teachings
of each religion must be read and understood first before attacking it. It should only be understood that criminals do not represent any religion, nor do terrorists. The latter do not even qualify as human beings.

Islam is the biggest advocate of love, peace, respect and freedom. While many people point fingers at the teachings of Islam, accusing it of stripping them of their fundamental rights, they do not realise that they are being inane. The very restrictions
laid down in Islam are only meant to make sure that the society does not give in to their demons.

If the restrictions were not in place, the women would not cover themselves properly, which would result in a male predator attacking them. Nobody’s wife, mother, daughter and sister would be safe. The sense of morality would also disappear from the society
and people will forget the difference between right and wrong. A married woman may end up getting into an illicit relationship with another man. The same goes for a married man. People would stop trusting their spouses and will start doubting each other regardless
of the other party being innocent.

Drinking is prohibited not to deprive people of pleasure to save them from ruining their life. Alcohol makes a person lose control of his mind and thus has no idea what he’s doing or saying. A lot of regrets may follow a drinking session.
