20th Amendment bill tabled in the National Assembly
Islamabad: (Tuesday, February 14, 2012) the bill to adopt 20th amendment to the Constitution of Pakistan has been tabled in the National Assembly here today. Earlier, the Federal Cabinet gave approval to the draft of
the amendment.
The National Assembly Session, presided over by the Speaker Assembly Dr. Fahmida Mirza, is presently going on.
Minister for Law, Maula Bux Chandio presented the bill today as soon as the NA session kicked off.
After approval of the motion seeking the 20th constitutional amendment for presentation of the bill, the proceedings of the house were suspended for about 15 minutes.
Upon tabling the bill, the leader of opposition in the house, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan raised objection for not holding consultation on the same.
