Let the big boys play among themselves

Politicians, Memogate, NRO, ISI and army are all what we ever talk about, completely ignoring the more pressing issues at hand. There is hunger in the country. People are struggling to meet end meet on daily basis. There are no jobs and the bills keep on
increasing. Yet, we are fixated on issues that don’t even affect us directly.

What I truly fail to understand is why we waste so much time talking about politicians and their corruption? Why are we living in the delusion that things will improve for the better once we get rid of them? Replacing the current rulers with whatever alternatives
we have will hardly serve any purpose, something that history quite clearly proves. Was there really a significant improvement in Pakistan when the army took over in late 90s? Did people begin to get jobs and education system improved? What became of the justice
system? Was it functioning properly or was it once again enslaved by those in power?

Rather than wasting our time and breath on issues that are beyond our control, what we really need to start focusing on things that we can mend through our efforts. Everything cannot be done by the politicians and army and it is time we realize this. We
can make our lives so much better if we stop being dependant on others.

It is also useless to interfere in a war for power that is going on between the politicians and army. Does it really matter to us who comes into power? Even though a civilian government is believed to be democratic and our true representative, experience
has taught us that they are indeed very different from us and oblivious to our troubles. There is not much difference between army and the civilian government. Both the institutions do whatever they feel like doing and completely ignore our wishes.

Rather than wasting time banging our head on a wall, it is better to channel our energy towards making our futures secure by working hard. There are a lot of resources present in our society and all we need to do is to make the most out of it. Things can
only improve if we realize that our fate is in our own hands.
