Parliament will emerge successful in ongoing trials, says Aitzaz
Lahore: (Tuesday, February 14, 2012) Pakistan Peoples’ Party central leader and renowned barrister Aitzaz Ahsan said today while judiciary had a very significant position and status, the members of parliament will emerge successful
in the ongoing trials.
Talking to the journalists after submitting his nomination papers for senate elections, Aitzaz said if elected, his commitment towards the struggle for the supremacy of the Parliament will remain un-shattered and he will also continue
to support the supremacy of the Constitution and law besides the status of the parliament.
He said, “My efforts are aimed at averting any clash between institutions.”
Responding to a query, Aitzaz said he was unable to say for how low the contempt of court against the Prime Minister will continue.
He was of the view that members of the parliament were under no threat, and in the ongoing trials, they will finally come out triumphant.
