Deepika Padukone wants do action films

Dusky bombshell Deepika Padukone will be seen with the Tamil superstar Rajinikanth in his forthcoming movie ‘Kochadaiyaan’, which will release in August this year. The actor and media personality, Rajinikanth, is considered as a cultural icon and working with him is like a dream come true for Deepika.

However, when the actress was asked about the genres that she is really keen on doing, she said action is high on her mind. Though Deepika stated she also likes doing romantic fare, she insisted she would love to some stunts on her own.

Deepika stated, “I’m looking forward to doing many more love stories and an action film for sure.”

She added, “Action is a genre that I’m yet to tap fully (she had earlier tried action in Chandni Chowk to China). It would be pretty thrilling to be able to do pull off some stunts on my own, so I wish I could do an out and out action film.”

The 26-year-old actress and model, Deepika, is the daughter of Badminton player Prakash Padukone but instead of pursuing a career in sports, she decided to become an actress.

Nevertheless, Deepika thinks her being into sports will help her a lot while doing the stunts.

“I’ve always been into sports, so it’s not like I can’t take on physically strenuous activities on screen. I think more than anything, it would be a fun challenge for me,” shared Deepika.

Deepika was previously participating in Abbas-Mustan’s upcoming film ‘Race 2’, which is a sequel to the 2008 hit film ‘Race’. But she opted out of the film after doing shooting for six days. Though this news left the producers fuming, Deepika is completely unnerved.

The actress is thrilled and can’t wait to begin shooting. As per the reports, Deepika’s skin tone will be digitally darkened by a shade to match Rajinikanth’s look. The decision has been taken since it was necessary to suit the performance capture technology that will be used in the film.

Well, all said and done, let’s see how Deepika performs opposite to Rajinikanth.
