Shoaib Akhtar denies Meera’s allegations

Former Pakistan Test cricketer Shoaib Akhtar, the man known for his quick bursts on the field and controversies, has once again found himself in a new controversy after actor Meera claimed that she had a yearlong affair with the speedster, who never appreciated her commitment.

Meera, who entertained Pakistani audiences with her movies and English, is no stranger to controversy.

In the latest move, Meera disclosed that the Pakistani pacer had proposed her but she refused. She claimed that the Rawalpindi Express proposed her and her cousin at the same time that was why she rejected the proposal.

She claimed, “Shoaib and I really liked each other. We had an affair two years ago and he proposed to me. Sadly, he also proposed to my cousin at the same time, which reflected that he wasn’t a very balanced person”.

Meera further stated, “I would have loved to marry him had he been stable. It would have been perfect, both of us being celebrities”.

She was quoted as saying that a couple of years back media circulated rumours about her affair with Shoaib Akhtar, admitting that she was involved with her. She, conversely, stated that the pacer did not take his relationship seriously.

Besides alleging that she and her cousin were proposed at the same time, she claimed Akhtar hit her in front of PTV staff. Meera maintained that she did not bring out the matter in front media, saying the blower waster a year of her life and hurt her extremely.

The actress further claimed that she had turned down a chance to earn Rs 50 million by joining a reality show with Shoaib Akhtar.“I was offered Rs five crores twice to appear on TV show ‘Bigg Boss’ with Shoaib. But I refused and so did he. I can’t be in a house with B-grade people,” she explained.

However, the fastest-pacer of the world rejected the allegations saying these were was completely baseless charges. While speaking to the media he observed, “Why should I have proposed to her? It is not based on facts. It is not true”.

He further stated that there was no reality in the statement. He commented, “Just don’t give any importance to this. Ignore the baseless statement. Many women dream of marrying me”.

It is vital to mention here that a similar affair between Veena Malik and Muhammad Asif earned wide-ranged fame in the past.
