Meera following footstep of Reema Khan finds US-based hubby

Following footsteps of Reema Khan, Lollywood star Meera found a US-based pilot as her life partner. In the recent past, she appeared on a TV show in quest of finding a life-partner but ultimately decided to give in to her parents in this regard.

In November 2011, Reema Khan, another Lollywood star tied knots with a US-based Pakistani cardiologist Dr Tariq Shahab, as per her family’s will, advising all girls to follow her footsteps.

In what appeared to be a quite expected move, Meera’s parents accepted the proposal of a Pakistani-origin US airline captain, Naveed Shehzad, who is also her family friend. According to the media reports the engagement, which is to be announced soon, will be arranged by the family.

The reports quoting the famous actress, who is really famous for her English, said, “Shehzad is a family friend and I will be getting engaged to him on my family’s insistence”

However, the story of first-sight love was started, back in 2009. Shehzad while speaking to the media stated that he had laid his eyes on Meera in 2009 at his sister’s wedding in New York. Calling her real name Rubab, he further said he has liked her since.

Rejecting the media reports, he at the same time clarified that the ceremony at Meera’s house on Sunday was not the engagement.

The media will be informed about the grand engagement ceremony in the near future, he added. He also informed that the marriage will be held by the end of this year. Shahzad along with his family paid a visit to Meera’s house on Sunday where closer relatives of the both side of the family were also present.

In her latest interview, Meera announced her retirement from Lollywood, the Pakistan film industry, saying that she wants to work on a new image of herself by working with productions outside the glamorous sphere.

Meera like many other actress caught many controversies in the past. She was allegedly married with Attiqur Rehman, who is not happy over the new development.

While expressing his feeling, he observed that Meera could not marry unless the court decides the case. He had filed a petition in response to the suit from Meera wherein she accused Rehman of preparing a fake marriage certificate showing her as his wife only to grab her property.

In the application, Meera claimed she had no relations with Rehman but he was blackmailing her by claiming to be her husband.
