Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus: Hands-on Review (Mobile World Congress 2012)

Samsung was touted to be the major contender at the world’s biggest mobile technology event, Mobile World Congress 2012, Barcelona but due to the some reason the company failed to introduce the next generation smartphones.

Majority of the lot belonged to basic to mediocre level handsets that contained Android 2.3 Gingerbread and Galaxy Ace Plus was no exception.

The phone was more of an entry-level smartphone that contained no more than medium level feature to raise its status from a normal handset to Galaxy category.

The screen was the least impressive in the host of devices showcased at the event. There was any discussion of AMOLED or OLED at the stand of Ace Plus at the event. The screen is sized at 3.65 inches (diagonal) barely making it a visible phone among 4-inch and 5-inch devices.

Ace Plus centres at dual-core processor clocked at 1 GHz, which by far is the most advanced technology in the device.

As far as the camera goes, it is a typical mediocre snapper with capability to capture 5-mega pixel photos and 720p HD video, which might sound impressive to those who own Java phones but in the world of smartphones, it is as normal as a 6-inch pizza.

A full review is awaited once it surfaces the market at the end of first calendar quarter of 2012 as the company has announced.
