Humans without conscience are nothing less than animals

Conscience is something that every human is believed to have. Even though there are examples such as Adolph Hitler who seemed to have sold their very soul to the devil in exchange for selfish gains such as power and authority, the general population is believed
to possess a heart that holds them back from crossing the boundary that separates them from animals.

People who kill their conscience began to feel empowered as they keep enjoying success, courtesy of their willingness to step on as many people as need to get to their goal.

These people think of themselves as untouchables, abusing the position that they have attained, which may range from being a loved one to a politician, teacher, terrorists, goons, shop-keepers, doctors, etc.

It would not be an overstatement or a false statement to say that the fore-mentioned people are the closest thing to the most vicious and heartless animals. They have no heart, have no feelings, feel no remorse and are completely selfish.

There are a lot of examples where the so-called humans let go of their conscience and did what even an animal would think twice before doing.

The murderers of the two brothers in Sialkot a couple of years back, the killing of innocent people in Karachi during throughout 2011, the abduction of people by unknown agencies in Balochistan, death of hundreds due to poisonous medicines, bomb blasts,
robberies that involve murder, all are examples of cases where one becomes confused whether they are talking about humans or animals.

A journalist who wishes for the anonymity of his identity to be maintained conceded, “During my school life, I was in love with this girl. Rather than understanding my feelings, she and her classmates, which included both guys and girls, used to chase me
around during lunch break and tease me. The harassment increased in intensity and eventually reached a stage where they used to abuse me and even came at my house to beat me up. They did this because they knew I was helpless in front of my feelings for that
girl and won’t do anything to them. The girl also enjoyed my humiliation.”

It is unfortunate that the basic element of humanity, i.e. conscience, is missing from people. They may have fun and success through their heartless approach towards others in the shorter run, but in the longer run they end up all alone, miserable and wounded.
