Jose Sulaiman: The WBC will not accept David Haye

Saturday, March 10th, 2012 12:51:46 by

World Boxing Council President, Jose Sulaiman, has confirmed that there is not going to be any fight between the former WBA heavyweight champion, David Haye, and the current WBC heavyweight champion, Vitali Klitschko.

Rumours revolving around suggested that Haye and Vitali held talks about a fight, which might happen sometime in the summer but now the chances of a potential fight between the two have faded and the reason behind all this is obviously Haye’s ugly brawl with Dereck Chisora, which occurred in Munich in the immediate post-fight press conference of Chisora’s twelve round unanimous decision defeat to Vitali.

After the brawl, WBC handed Chisora with a lifetime ban but no charges were brought against Haye since he officially announced his retirement last year. Nevertheless, Sulaiman has insisted that they would have had taken Haye’s license, if he would have had it.

“The WBC will not accept David Haye. He is not rated by the WBC. And, The British Board of Boxing Control, can’t issue anything against someone who’s not affiliated to them any more. If he was licensed, he’d for sure have his license taken away from him. It would be setting a bad example for boxing if we accepted David Haye.”

Sulaiman has stated that Vitali, who is more commonly known as ‘Dr. Ironfist’, should look for other opponents and not David Haye, as he thinks Haye has embarrassed the sport of boxing.

He said: “This is a long feud, but I believe Vitali must think of the World, and not just limit himself to the area where he’s been fighting recently. I think he should now look for something more important and worldwide.”

He concluded, “I would not like to mention David Haye again, because for me today, he’s not a good example for Boxing. Let’s talk about someone else that could be a reality. This is a joke!”

Well, all said and done, Haye and Vitali fight could have generated a lot of revenue but let’s see if he gets a chance.

WHAT!!! This is absolutely outrageous the WBC wont accept david haye? This is the fight everyone wants to see so surely that must pull a few strings itself for god sake. And lets not forget Haye was provoked in that brawl with Chisora he had no choice but to be on guard or let Chisora do what he done to Vitali at the weigh-in. Personaly i think this has something to do with Vitali’s manager making a few calls to keep Haye out of the picture because it seems clear to me that Bernd Boente doesn’t want Haye anywhere near Vitali and he sure as hell dont want him in the ring with vitali. So do we have a conspiracy going on here? I think so!!!

This guy is such a hypocrite, he talks about david haye setting a bad example and yet he publicly supports floyd mayweather to fight becoz he generates more money for fights, even when mayweather has been convicted of beating his girlfriend.

What a con, get stuffed grandpa!
