What’s about Balochistan (Part One)

The lack of wisdom by concerned authorities over the Balochistan issue seems bound to widen the distance between them and the estranged Baloch leadership.

Most shocking development hit the power corridors on 17th of February, when a resolution was passed in the US House of the Representatives that Baloch nation should be given their due right of sovereignty.

Congressman Dana Rohrabacher moved the said motion, defending his resolution in front of congress with number of arguments and logics.

He stated that how Punjab has exploited Baloch people of their rights and governance of the country doesn’t reflect its kindness upon Balochistan as it does for Punjab in terms of more spending and investments in developmental projects.

The most appalling thing was that Baloch leaders, who are residing in different countries, welcomed the US resolution.

Another awful thing is that people, particularly those in power, are not looking quite serious about the issue. Our vibrant media is also not really bothered about where Balochistan is heading for.

Furthermore, a handful people are invited to engage in heated debates on channels and then new day starts with newer news to hunt for.

At the time, we are not realizing these crucial turn of events; Pakistan again is headed for a black day unless steps are taken to contain this outburst.

In the past, we lost East Pakistan and now we think what our elders were doing back then when it was all falling out.

Our future generation will think the same about us, as what we are doing right now when all of this is happening.

The response of Baloch leaders to the US resolution is quite alarming. Was their act wrong and why not anyone expressed disagreement with the decision from within Baloch leaders?

The reality is that we have failed to think nationally and most of us don’t want to consider about it because right now it’s not there problem.

We cannot understand why such policy was acknowledged unless we place ourselves in their shoes and look the government policy making through their eyes.

Despite the region is rich in resources, it has not been targeted for government spending and investments as compared to other regions.
