New oil discoveries can prove to be fruitful – Pakistan oil and gas sector update

Ministry for Petroleum and Natural Resources assured that per day production of gas would be increased 800 million cubic feet by the month of September.

The ministry also said that 38 new reservoirs of oil and gas have been discovered with in last four years.

According to government sources, quoted by state-run news agency, 47 licenses had been issued to search new sources of oil and gas in the last four year.

After discovery of new oil and gas reservoirs, gas production has reached to 4,165 million cubic feet per day.

The sources further said that 800 million cubic feet gas per day would be included in August or September which would help improving the gas supply.

Tenders for Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline project would be called by the third quarter of ongoing year, the sources added.
