Dereck Chisora wants a grudge match against David Haye confirms Frank Warren

Frank Warren, English boxing manager and promoter, has confirmed that Dereck Chisora, former British heavyweight champion, has appealed against the withdrawal of his licence because he thinks his grudge match against David Haye, former WBA heavyweight champion, is inevitable.

The 28-year-old Chisora, who holds a record of winning 15 of his 18 professional fights, with 10 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, remained involved in several controversial incidents before and after his WBC heavyweight title fight against Vitali ‘Dr. Ironfist’ Klitschko, which took place at the Olmpiahalle last month on February 18.

Chisora slapped Vitali at their weigh-in and before the fight he spat water at Wladimir’s face. The pugilist later on also had a fist-fight with Haye in his post-fight press conference and due to all these things the British Boxing of Control (BBBofC) indefinitely removed his boxing licence.

Nevertheless, Chisora now wants his licence back as he believes his grudge match with Haye is a must and Frank Warren also thinks that it will be a complete sell out, if the two take on each other in the ring.

“It’s a natural fight, it doesn’t matter what anyone says,” he said.

He added, “It’s a bigger fight than either of them fighting Wladimir or Vitali Klitschko. There’s lot for them to fight about – in a proper environment.

“I do see the fight happening. It’s the proper forum for them to settle their differences.”

“The appeal has gone in already. The grounds for the appeal are that we’re not satisfied with the way the hearing went,” he said.

He remarked, “There was also no chance to review any evidence before the hearing. All I want to see is a fair hearing.

“Dereck Chisora will present his side of events and then we’ll see what happens.”

Well, after what has happened it doesn’t look as if (BBBofC) will give Chisora his licence back but still let’s see if the Brit gets another chance because his grudge match with Haye will certainly make many out there flock to the cinemas.
