Sriram Raghavan: Saif would be there in the second instalment as ‘Agent Vinod’

The Bollywood actors and real-life jodi, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor, recently sizzled on the big screen in ‘Agent Vinod’, which was released on March 23. Though the film failed to create a stir at the box office, the director of the film Sriram Raghavan is upbeat on making a sequel.

The 41-year-old Saif, who played a spy’s role in the movie, already wanted to make ‘Agent Vinod’ a franchise and now it looks as if audiences will really get to see a sequel of the movie.

“We are toying with some ideas for the sequel but we haven’t started writing the script yet. But there are a few ideas. As ‘Agent Vinod’ is still running in theatres, we would wait for 15 days or so and then begin our work (scripting),” Sriram told PTI.

‘Agent Vinod’ has a simple storyline in which an Indian agent dies while accomplishing his mission overseas. However, before dying he sends a mysterious message back to the headquarters suggesting something wrong.

Raghavan while telling the media about the film said that India will once again be a part of the plot in the sequel.

Sriram said, “Saif would be there in the second instalment as ‘Agent Vinod’. The story would move to different places but eventually India would also be part of the plot. It would be like the Bond series.”

“Other characters would change. Also, once we finish writing the script we would think of which characters to retain and which not,” he said.

“We have got a good response. The area where we need to improve is length. As it is a fast-action-spy movie, we need to reduce its length. In the next series, we would make sure the length is of two hours only,” Sriram said.

Well, all said and done, let’s see if Raghavan and Saif really make a sequel for the movie.
