Arsenal confirms its participation for the NextGen Series

Arsenal Football Club jubilantly announced its participation at the second edition of the NextGen Series. 

The NextGen series is an elite European youth competition which proved tremendous success in its first season. It featured next generation of the world-class players trained by the 24 of the greatest clubs in Europe. The competition comprises of under-19
players with three squad members who can exceed this age limit.  

Last year champions, Inter Milan, who practiced at the Emirates Stadium ahead of the final, stated that the tournament sharpened their players skills and abilities. 

Arsenal’s boss, Arsene Wenger, was quoted, “We are excited about joining the NextGen Series next season. It’s a very good challenge to confront yourselves with the best young players in Europe. We have spoken to Inter Milan and they said their players improved
tremendously through the season because of the quality of the competition.”

The Gunners sealed the fourth addition of this tournament. They will join Olympiacos, Paris Sain-Germain and Chelsea as the fourth club to sign up for the second season of the series.

Arsenal youngsters will be competing against some of the world’s best teams which include Barcelona, Inter Milan, Sporting Lisbon, Olympic Marseille and Celtic. Some of the top English sides are also in the tournament: Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City,
Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Frenchman commented further, "You play against the best players of your age and it will be a very interesting experience for us. It’s also a good way to assess your players and to give you an idea of the future potential of the Club.”

The tournament’s co-founder, Justin Andrews, also praised Arsenal on its participation at this event. He stated, “Arsenal have one of the finest youth academies in the world, it is brilliant news to be adding them to the list of Europe’s most distinguished
clubs.”
