Essa offers coaching services to Pakistan

Former Pakistan captain Muhammad Essa claims that he will be willing to work as a coach for the National team if given the opportunity.

The KESC skipper has been hailed as one of the best forwards to play for the Green-Shirts in recent memory, although his stint has been hampered due to certain issues with the PFF.

Essa retired in 2009 and vowed that he would only return if given the captaincy but given the Federation’s decision to back out, he has not played Internationally for three years now.

However despite his problems, he is willing to help out the Green-Kickers if they require his services as a coach.

“I may still be playing but I am more experienced than the other coaches of the country as I have learnt a lot about how to train and run a team while playing under several foreign coaches,” he said.

“And particularly while captaining Pakistan, I used to discuss different tactics with foreign coaches and it helped me learn a lot from them.”

He also thanked PFF President Faisal Saleh Hayat for allowing him to take part in a refresher course in Germany, which he is currently undergoing.

“I am very thankful to the PFF chief Faisal Saleh Hayat for sending my name for the refresher course in Germany as it will further equip me with some more modern coaching techniques which are necessary for coaching these days.”

Although he hasn’t returned to the National team fold since 2009, current boss Zavisa Milosavljevic is expected to call upon on the playmaker when the AFC Challenge Cup qualifiers come around next year.
