Despite holding a great number of votes , Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan unable to bag a place in Times’ 100 top most influential people.

Contrary to the cricket-turned politician, Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and Oscar winning Sharmeen Obaid Chinnoy listed in most influential people of the world, sorted out by Time magazine.

According to the Times, Imran Khan himself surprisingly picked up Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, who was not chosen for the list.

Earlier, it had been expected that Imran Khan, would be picked up among 100 most influential figures of the world as he secured eighth position few days before ending of Time magazine polling.

Time magazine named Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and Pakistan’s first Oscar winner Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy as among the 100 most influential people of the world. As Times puts it, Chaudhry and Sharmeen have made it to a list of people who inspire the people entertain them, challenge them and change the world.

According to a write-up for the Times’ list by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, “Chaudhry has become the first head of Pakistan’s Supreme Court to attempt to bring the powerful to justice. He has taken on the Prime Minister and the President in an effort to hold them to account. It’s not just the politicians either. Chaudhry, 63, is also seeking to take Pakistan’s intelligence agencies to task for their human-rights abuses.”

Sharmeen was praised in the list by Hollywood actor and director Angelina Jolie who said “[Sharmeen] belongs to a monumental campaign that is changing the legal, social and political fate of survivors of acid-related violence. Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s documentary Saving Face brought Pakistan’s acid-violence problem to the world stage. Today she is bringing the film’s message to towns and villages in Pakistan through an educational-awareness campaign.”

The Time’s list of 100 most influential people include Salman Khan of the Khan Academy, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatullah Ali Khamenei and Manal al-Sharif – a Saudi protestor against country’s ban on female drivers, amongst others.

no doubt Chief Justice and shermeen obaid have respect and live in every pakistani’s heart, but this is totally injustice not to announce the name of imran khan in the state and private tv channels. As per the ranking by the votes he was given, he was on 4th till last day. CJ and Shermeen were too far than imran khan.

There is another thing needs to be mentioned here. During the voting one of our pakistani but anti-imran supporter was supporting narendar moodi and was encouraging an indian who was abusing and opposing imran khan. He was also supporter of PML-N at the same time. Are these the standards of our way of supporting and opposing our politicians?
