Former PML-Q senator Tariq Azeem joins PML-N

Former senator Tariq Azeem on Thursday became the latest Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid leader to join Nawaz Sharif’s PML-N .

Azeem announced his affiliation with the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz before a press conference in Raiwand today. The PML-N president and the former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was accompanying the former senator.

Azeem, who held the information ministry portfolio in Musharraf’s regime, said that he was feeling relieved after joining PML-N.

“PML-N’s politics is based on principles while the PML-Q is an opportunist party,” said Azeem adding that he wanted to join Nawaz Sharif and co without any condition or wish for any designation in the party.

On this occasion Nawaz Sharif said that his party is inducting only clean politicians adding that he would welcome those PML-Q people, who did not hatch conspiracies along with Pervez Musharraf. Marvi Memon and Ameer Muqam have already joined Nawaz Sharif’s party ahead of the 2013 general elections.

Nawaz Sharif also said that PPP government has become apathetic in handling the law and order issues of Balochistan and Karachi.

The former premier, who held the PM office twice in the past, that some politicians and government officials were responsible of poor law and order situation in Karachi and Balochistan.
