Lamborghini is planning to expand its business in the automobile industry. In the recent developments the company has announced to launch the SUV line of vehicles that it discarded almost two decades ago. The Italian company has renamed the new line of SUVs Urus. The name has been taken from the ancient line of Spanish bulls.

Lambo started the SUV production in the late 1980s by the name of LM002. However, despite the fact that it produced high power and proved to be a better solution in the off-road drives than its peers, it still could not grab much attention and in 1992, the company discontinued its production.

The new Urus line is however different from the ancestor and brings more power, design and luxury not only than its 80s vehicles but the contemporary competition in the market.

The company showcased the production unit first at the New York Auto Show, earlier in April and now the ready-to-roll model was shown at the Beijing Auto Show this week. Experts took the news and the new car open hearted.

“SUVs stand for freedom and emotion,” says Stephan Winkelmann, the president of Automobili Lamborghini. “The Urus is a very concrete idea for the future of Lamborghini.”

The company, since its takeover by German automakers and conglomerate, Volkswagen, has been working on the SUV and sedan models due to the increased pressure from the competitors with the likes Porsche, Ferrari and Bentley, who have recently rolled out, or are in phase of doing so, their respective sedans and SUVs.

The Urus is an astonishing amalgamation of the German engineering and Italian designing and luxury. Lamborghini did not say anything prior to the official release of the vehicle, but confirmed one thing that the Urus is the most fuel efficient in the market with the lowest CO2 emissions in the current slew of SUVs.
