Freddie Roach: Manny Pacquiao will fight differently with Timothy Bradley

The eight-division world champion, Manny Pacquiao, the current WBC welterweight champion, will lock horns with the undefeated American prospect, Timothy Bradley, on June 9 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. However, after seeing Manny’s last performance against Juan Manuel Marquez, many are of the view that Bradley will be a different catch for the Filipino star.

Nevertheless, Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach is confident that his man will win the fight and he will win the fight in a dominant way.

The hall of fame trainer, Roach, reckons Pacquiao has accomplished everything which a fighter dreams of and now he has nothing to prove. Roach insisted Pacquiao will have nothing to lose against Bradley. Moreover, Roach thinks the way Pacquiao is training these days, he will simply knockout Bradley.

“The dedication he has been showing in responding to the training program, which I hadn’t seen in latest fights, led me to believe he’ll be fighting differently when he meets Bradley,” Roach said in Philboxing.com.

Roach also believes that an improved stamina of Pacquiao will come in handy against the young American.

“Manny’s been conducting himself very well since we arrived here last week. I never expected him to be in this advanced state in preparations,” he said.

On the other hand, Bradley, who holds a perfect record of winning all of his 29 professional fights (1 no contest), with 12 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, is confident of a win as well.

Bradley recently told Boxingscene.com, “All I hear is I’m a high pressure volume puncher and I’m like wow. … They say it will be like the Ricky Hatton fight. That (style) is what I have been showing in maybe my last 3 fights because my opponents couldn’t handle it but I can adjust in the ring. I laugh when I hear it. … I can adjust to pretty much any style.”

Well, all said and done, Pacquiao, who is currently rated as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, will enter the ring as a red-hot favorite on the fight night but let’s see if Bradley can really shock the boxing world by upsetting Pac-Man.
