Joanna Maranhao and Thiago Pereira dominate swimming events – Maria Lenk Trophy

Joanna Maranhao and Thiago Pereira dominated the events of 200m Individual Medley (IM) in Women and Men’s category on day two of the Maria Lenk Trophy in Brazil.

Maranhao remained prominent over her challengers in the Women’s event as she won gold medal of the discipline by submitting a time of 2 minutes and 14.63 seconds.

She was followed by Mireya Belmonte, who stayed nearly two strokes slower from her and tapped the wall for silver medal by clocking an effort of 2 minutes and 14.66 seconds.

The second position holder was chased by Manuella Lyrio, who remained considerably slower from her and hit the finishing end with the timing of 2 minutes and 19.56 seconds for bronze medal.

Fourth position of the discipline was secured by Larissa Freitas Cieslak, who remained 1.94 seconds behind and settled on the finishing blockade with the timing of 2 minutes and 21.52 seconds.

Fifth position of the discipline was secured by Rebeca Bianca Bretanha, who stayed almost one second behind and hit the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 22.38 seconds.

On the other hand, Pereira occupied gold medal of the Men’s equivalent event by ending his swim in a time of 1 minute and 57.11 seconds.

His title claiming effort was chased by Henrique Rodrigues, who stayed substantially slower from Pereira and tapped the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 58.91 seconds for silver medal.

Third position of the discipline was secured by Andre Schultz, who stayed nearly three seconds behind and settled on the finishing end for silver medal by posting a time of 2 minutes and 01.45 seconds.

Schultz was traced by Renato Britto Barufi, who remained slightly behind his former swimmer and hit the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 01.78 seconds.

Barufi enjoyed a benefit of two strokes over Diogo Oliveira Yabe, who clocked an effort of 2 minutes and 02.08 seconds.

Furthermore, the session ended after the completion of all listed events while the position holders were awarded accolades after the session.
