PM Gilani appoints Musharraf’s spokesperson his Special Assistant

In quite a shocking development, Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani appointed right-man of former president General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf, Fawad Chaudhry as his Special Assistant on Political Affairs.

What many others can never do in their political careers spanning over decades, Fawad Chaudhry has gained within two months of joining the party. He was given a task to save the alleged corruption of Ali Musa Gilani, the son of Prime Minister Gilani.

The new induction, Fawad Chaudhry was spokesman for Pervez Musharraf until a few months ago and was negotiating with Imran Khan to join Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). However, all of a sudden joined Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) and within no time secured the slot of special assistant to the convicted premier.

While talking to a local newspaper, the newly appointed special assistant compared his boss with Nelson Mandela, Gandhi and Aung San Suu Kyi. In his view, whosoever will show loyalty to the party, will be equated with great leaders of the world.

Explaining his new boss, he observed, “Nelson Mandela was also convicted, Gandhi was also convicted, Aung San Suu Kyi is also convicted so what happened if Yusuf Raza Gilani is also convicted. Everyone who shows loyalty is placed at high pedestal so is Yusuf Raza Gilani”.

While elaborating his duties with Gilani, who was convicted by the Supreme Court of Pakistan for defying its ruling in NRO implementation case, the special assistant said he would advise him on political affairs.

He, however, avoided replying the question about writing letter to Swiss authorities against reopening graft cases against President Asif Ali Zardari, saying the situation will be improved after his arrival.

It is vital highlight here that journalist would receive calls from currently the PM’s special assistant, who would tell them about latest developments of General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf.

On March 09, Fawad Chaudhry held a meeting with Prime Minister Gilani, announcing to join the PPP and shocking not only Musharraf and company but also his close friends.

Since then, he is the mouthpiece of PM Gilani especially in the Rs7 billion corruption cases allegedly involving Musa Gilani.
