Soundgarden to release new studio album in October

Soundgarden lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Chris Connel, has revealed that the band will be releasing their new studio album this October.

The band’s last studio album, Down on the Upside, was released way back in 1996 and the fans have waited for almost 16 years for the band’s sixth album. They have already launched the first single from their new record, Live to Rise, which was recorded for
the Marvel film, The Avengers.

Cornell revealed while talking to Rolling Stone:

“Soundgarden does a lot of time signature changes and shifts and things like that. It felt like [‘Live to Rise’] should be a little more straightforward ’cause it’s for a broad audience”.

He stated about the new record that it will hit the stores in October:

“It’s done. It’ll be out in probably October. I would say September but I’m just guessing October. We’re pretty much done with everything”.
