Atreyu, an American metalcore band, is enjoying a break and the band’s members are exploring their options elsewhere. Travis Miguel, rhythm and lead guitars, is the latest to lend his abilities to a new band, Fake Figures.

Fake Figures also features Iron maidens’ guitarist, Heather Baker, Nightfall’s drummer, J Po, Scars of Tomorrow’s bassist, Bob Bradley, and Hotwire’s vocalist, Rus Martin. The band has recently issued their debut EP, Hail The Sycophants.

The band has also released a video for the record’s lead single, Something Deadly, which can be seen at Noisecreep.

Martin stated about the song:

“The origin of the song’s lyrics came from unfortunate events that occur like Columbine, the Arizona shooting of U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords, the shooting at Fort Hood, and the Virginia Tech massacre. ‘Something Deadly’ describes how someone can
go from the last step of sanity into the first of insanity, causing a tremendous amount of pain to innocent people”.
