Michael Phelps confident of his wins at the 2012 London Olympic Games – Swimming News

The fourteen-time Olympic gold medallist, USA’s Michael Fred Phelps has expressed confident over his performance at the forthcoming 2012 London Olympic Games.

Phelps, 26, who won eight gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, has claimed that he is feeling himself once again, as he did in Beijing.

The news might have shattered hopes of the Australian butterfly expert, Nick D’Arcy, who is considered a strong contender of Phelps in the 200m butterfly.

With his confident statement, it is deemed that Phelps’s bad patch is over and he will once again shine at the upcoming Olympics.

Last year, Bowman rated Phelps’s swimming two on a scale of ten, which was quite low but now, he rated him nine out of ten.

“I kind of feel like my old self again. I’m swimming times like I used to. I’m swimming races how I used to. So, everything is coming back to me, what it was, I guess, before ’08. I’m actually enjoying it. I’m swimming well again. ‘After Beijing, there’s
countless times where I’ve just wanted to be like: I don’t want to do this any more. I don’t want to go to the pool every day,” said Phelps.

While commenting about his some deteriorated performances after the 2009 Rome World Championships, Phelps said, “That’s kind of like, what I would do. I wasn’t in tune to everything that was going on in the pool. If I wanted to get up and just play golf
one day, I would just get up and play golf. If I wanted to go to Vegas, I would just get up and go to Vegas. ‘I was pretty much just escaping the pool.”

On the contrary, Phelps said that he is focus is now entirely directed towards his training sessions and he is doing everything he can to improve his pace.

In addition, the American star articulated that he is pretty much hopeful about his smothering efforts at the upcoming London Games and he will try to meet the expectations of his supporters by dominating his main events.
