Chad La Tourette and Elizabeth Pelton win gold medals – 2012 NC Charlotte UltraSwim

Chad La Tourette and Elizabeth Pelton won gold medals of the Men’s 1500m freestyle and Women’s 200m backstroke respectively at the 2012 NC Charlotte UltraSwim.

First of all, the 23-year-old La Tourette remained almost half a second ahead of his strongest rival and emerged on the finishing end for gold medal by posting a time of 15 minutes and 06.73 seconds.

The champion was trailed by Connor Jaeger, who stayed 0.56 seconds apart and tapped the finishing wall with an effort of 15 minutes and 07.29 seconds for silver medal.

Jaeger was trailed by Michael McBroom, who remained nearly nine seconds apart and sprinted his way towards the finishing wall for bronze medal by producing a time of 15 minutes and 16.33 seconds.

Following that, the crowd witnessed Pelton’s gruelling effort, who finished her swim for gold medal by posting a time of 2 minutes and 09.41 seconds.

Her gold winning struggle remained 1.17 seconds behind from Stephanie Proud, who proved her mettle for silver medal of the discipline by producing a time of 2 minutes and 10.58 seconds.

Proud was followed by Dominique Bouchard, who remained a half body length behind and secured bronze medal of the event by reporting an effort of 2 minutes and 11.10 seconds.

After that, the audience experienced exhausting efforts of Ryan Murphy in the Men’s 200m backstroke. Murphy succeeded in reaching the finishing end for gold medal with an effort of 1 minute and 58.90 seconds.

His nerve-wrecking form remained just a touch slower from the Omar Pinzon, who followed him on the victory stand for second position by producing a time of 1 minute and 58.12 seconds.

The second position holder was followed by Nick Thoman, who stayed nearly two body lengths behind the second position holder and tapped the finishing end for third position with the timing of 2 minutes and 00.26 seconds.

Furthermore, the championship ended after the completion of all planned events in Men and Women’s corner.
