Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is the talk of the town these days as he will be seen in an action film ‘Rowdy Rathore’ after a long time. ‘Rowdy Rathore’, directed by Prabhu Deva, is scheduled to hit the cinemas on June 1 and Akshay is promoting it through the popular TV serial CID since he believes now the reach of television has become larger than the reach of a film.

“TV is very important. Today, it is wrong to call television small. Television is a huge medium and it has a bigger reach than films,” the 44-year-old said here Tuesday while shooting an action sequence for CID.

The film will feature Sonakshi Sinha in a lead role opposite to Akshay and she also reckons that CID has a very wide reach.

“I have a lot of friends who watch this show together, it has got a very wide reach. ACP Pradyuman (Shivaji Satam) is very famous,” the 24-year-old said.

Meanwhile, Akshay commented on Shah Rukh Khan’s IPL controversy as well. SRK, who co-owns Kolkata Knight Riders team, has been banned for five years by the MCA officials for getting into a brawl with a guard at the Wankhede Stadium.

Akshay stated sometimes controversies are made for no reasons and he feels lucky because he has not been a part of them.

“May be I escaped from controversies, maybe I was not caught. No, it is not like that. There are situations when controversies are made and controversies are created out of nothing,” said Akshay here.

“Some actors fell into that! But no one wants to get caught into any controversy; everyone wants to hear good things about themselves. It is situations that make you a victim of some controversy. I feel I am lucky enough not to become a victim of any controversy. May be I escaped from it,” he added.

Well, all said and done, let’s see how Akshay Kumar entertains the audiences in ‘Rowdy Rathore’.
