Robin Gibb dies at 62

Former Bee Gees singer Robin Gibb has died at age 62 after intestinal surgery for colon cancer and liver suffering since 2010, as confirmed by his family.

Gibb announced last February that it had experienced a "spectacular" recovery from his illness. However, in mid-April his health again suffer as a result of pneumonia which led him to being in a coma for several days.

The Robin’s family announced the death of the musician "with great sadness" and called for "respect their privacy at this difficult time."

His twin brother, Maurice, also a member of the Bee Gees, died at age 53 in 2003 as a result of a bowel obstruction.

The Bee Gees were one of the most famous of the 70 and 80, with more than 200 million albums sold and such familiar topics as’ How Deep is Your Love ‘and’ Stayin ‘Alive’.

The formation reaped record sales of more than 200 million copies sold since achieving fame in the 60’s.

The music industry has been quick to react to the death of Gibb and Sony Music reminded the musician with a message posted on the social network Twitter: "Rest in peace, Robin Gibb. Thanks for music" .
