The Bolton’s finest, Amir Khan, also known as King Khan, lost his WBA (Super) and IBF Light Welterweight titles to Lamont Peterson last year on December 10, in a fight which ended up with a storm of controversy.

Both fighters were scheduled for a mandatory rematch but it got cancelled since Peterson came positive on the drug testing. Therefore, Khan has insisted that the American should be banned for the rest of his life.

The Brit said that he has always volunteered for the random blood testing but now he would get all of his future opponents tested before the fight, as he believes in a fight a boxer’s life is on stake.

“Anyone who has been done for drugs should be banned for life. Peterson failed a test and that should be his punishment,” said Khan.

“I have seen athletes get back after two years and I just don’t think that is right. I have always volunteered for testing and everyone should.

“If a boxer fails a drugs test he should never be allowed to fight again because, even after two years whatever he has been taking is still in his body in my books.”

“He knew himself what he took as a professional boxer. He should have checked everything but he didn’t declare anything. I really think he should be punished because he was a threat, not only to my life, but his own life as well.”

Khan, who holds a record of winning 26 of his 28 professional fights, with 18 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, is set to face Danny Garcia on July 14 in Las Vegas and he has already complied the test.

The 25-year-old pugilist, in the meantime, revealed that the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) asked him if he wants to have more tests and he never said no to them.

Well, all said and done, let’s see if Amir Khan gets his titles back or not.
