Slayer drummer and percussionist, Dave Lombardo, has stressed that he does not like people talking rubbish about Lars Ulrich. The Cuban-born American musician has insisted that he enjoys a good relationship with the Metallica drummer, and has never felt anything bad in him.

“Me and Lars we get along great and I don’t like people talking rubbish about Lars! They have to stop. There are a lot of fans out there who like to say a lot of bad things about him and he’s a very good friend of mine and I don’t like it”, Lombardo stated while giving an interview to MetalPaths.com.

Slayer are busy this summer with their numerous shows, but they will be performing without their guitarist, Jeff Hanneman, who is currently recovering after complications associated with a debilitating spider bite.

“I really don’t know. Nobody knows… Until he feels better and the doctor says ‘go’”, Lombardo described.

Gary Holt, Exodus guitarist, would be playing for Slayer in the absence of Hanneman, and Lombardo had nothing but praises for the guitarist.

“Gary is an amazing guitar player. We love Gary and we really appreciate all of the help he has given us while Jeff is getting better”, Lombardo concluded.
