UK support for ‘threatened’ oil companies and Falklands’ right to develop its own hydrocarbons industry – Oil and gas news update

"The exploration of hydrocarbons in the waters of the Falklands is a legitimate commercial activity", said a spokeswoman from the Foreign Ministry immediately adds that the UK supports the right of Islands’ to develop their own resources for their own benefit

The spokesman added that "recent efforts to undermine the economic life hood Falkland Islands unfortunately reflects a pattern of behavior by the government Argentina ".

The spokesman also played down the announcement of Argentina on the demanding oil companies listed in London Falklands, arguing that at all illegal.

"We must insist that the law does not apply to Argentina in the Falklands, South Georgia or South Sandwich Islands," he suggests that "the people of the Falklands have the right to develop the fisheries and the oil industry in the waters of their own with
no interference from Argentina"
