Meghan Haila and Charles Houchin win swimming events – 2012 GSC Summer Invitational

Meghan Haila and Charles Houchin won gold medals of the Women’s 100m breaststroke and Men’s 200m freestyle at the 2012 Gator Swim Club Summer Invitational.

With her epic pace and commendable start, Haila sprinted her way towards the finishing wall for gold medal with the timing of 1 minute and 12.20 seconds.

Her gold winning effort remained 2.63 seconds ahead of Bethany J Leap, who proved her mettle for silver medal of the discipline by submitting a time of 1 minute and 14.83 seconds.

Third spot of the event was secured by Jessie Holley, who stayed 0.43 seconds apart and hit the finishing wall for third position by producing a time of 1 minute and 15.26 seconds.

Following that, Houchin remained nearly one stroke faster from his foregoing finisher and hit the finishing blockade with the timing of 1 minute and 48.93 seconds for gold medal.

The champion was trailed by Conor J Dwyer, who stayed 0.19 seconds apart and emerged on the finishing end with an effort of 1 minute and 49.12 seconds for second position.

The silver medallist was chased by Peter W Vanderkaay, who remained nearly 2.70 seconds apart and pocketed bronze medal of the discipline by submitting a time of 1 minute and 51.98 seconds.

Third event of the session was the equivalent event in Women’s category, where Elizabeth Beisel served notice of her talent.

She continued her nerve-wrecking pace throughout the discipline and hit the finishing wall for the crown with an effort of 2 minutes and 01.13 seconds.

The gold medallist was followed by Stephanie M Proud, who also improved her position in the playoff and proved her mettle for silver medal of the discipline by producing a time of 2 minutes and 03.08 seconds.

The second position holder was chased by Kendal A Casey, who was only two strokes apart and secured bronze medal of the discipline by reporting a time of 2 minutes and 03.45 seconds.

Furthermore, the session ended after the conclusion of all planned events in men and Women’s corner.
