Stephanie Proud and Ryan Murphy excel in swimming events – 2012 GSC Summer Invitational

Stephanie Proud and Ryan Murphy excelled in the playoffs of 100m backstroke in Women and Men’s corner at the 2012 Gator Swim Club Summer Invitational.

Proud remained more than a body length ahead of her following swimmer and hit the finishing end with the timing of 1 minute and 02.15 seconds.

Her title-claiming effort remained 1.69 seconds faster from Maddie M Hess, who stepped on the medal rostrum for silver medal by submitting a time of 1 minute and 03.84 seconds.

Similarly, Hess remained 0.98 seconds faster from Ashlee N Linn, who accomplished bronze medal of the 100m event by reporting a time of 1 minute and 04.82 seconds.

Next was the equivalent event in Men’s corner, where Murphy devastated hopes of his supporters.

He stayed marginally ahead of his challengers from the start of the event and rushed his way towards the finishing end with the timing of 54.98 seconds.

The champion was followed by Ryan S Lochte, who stayed 0.32 seconds apart and stepped on the medal rostrum for second position of the discipline by clocking an effort of 55.30 seconds.

Bronze medal of the discipline was secured by Ben E Hesen, who stayed 0.97 seconds apart and sprinted his way towards the finishing end with the timing of 56.27 seconds.

Third event of the session was Men’s 400m freestyle, where Charles G Houchin proved his eligibility for the crown of the event.

With his invincible efforts, Houchin remained considerably ahead of his opponents and tapped the finishing end for gold medal with the timing of 3 minutes and 50.49 seconds.

His title-claiming effort remained 9.41 seconds faster from Peter W Vanderkaay, who secured silver medal of the discipline by producing a time of 3 minutes and 59.90 seconds.

Third position of the event was obtained by Alexander J Katz, who was 0.29 seconds behind and posted a time of 4 minutes and 00.19 seconds.

Furthermore, the championship ended after the conclusion of all planned events while the winners received medals after the session.
