NAB opens inquiry into DHA and Bahria Town land Scam

Lahore: (Monday, June 11, 2012) The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to reopen a closed case against a deal between two of the real estate giants of Pakistan – The Defence Housing Authority (DHA) and the Bahria
Town (BT), which caused over 150,000 people including 41,000 soldiers to lose their Rs 200 billion.

Earlier, the NAB’s Rawalpindi chapter had secretly closed the matter that was referred by the Supreme Court.

Learning about closure of the inquiry the NAB Chairman Admiral (retd) Fasih Bokhari expressed serious concerns over the matter and ordered for reopening the case.

Telling details into the scam, NAB’s spokesman Zafar Iqbal said, “The inquiry includes allegations of the illegal adjustment of 2,107 acres of land meant for the proposed Dadhocha Dam, illegal resale of DHA Phase II extension site
to DHA Valley and the illegal extension of DHA Phase II extension area.”

Calling for an independent and transparent inquiry into the scam, Bokhari directed the Rawalpindi chapter’s NAB chief to find out and submit a report on why investigation was not completed nor was further action recommended for
the complaint.

The complaint was lodged by Colonel (retd) Muhammad Tariq Kamal – the former director engineering DHA, to the NAB headquarters in Islamabad which was then forwarded to the NAB Rawalpindi office through a cover letter titled “complaints
against the management DHA-I, BT and others.”

In January last year, the Supreme Court had also directed the NAB to investigate the matter and a report was also sought from the Punjab government on the same issue. However, inexplicably, following an executive board meeting,
the NAB had decided to close down the inquiry.

According to the NAB report, the DHA authorities had purchased 3,718 acres of land in 2003 from private owners, including the 2,107 acres of the Dadhocha Dam site. Three years down the line, the DHA authorities told the district
government of Rawalpindi that the site would be used for dam construction to meet the water need of DHA members. However, contrary to the information shared with the district government, the DHA afterwards concluded an agreement with the BT to develop a housing
scheme on its own terms and conditions.

Malik Riaz and his team have been selling papers to public and later have been buying these papers with 75 % loss and made billions. He launched phase 8 at rawalpindi and gathered money and used elsewhere. people kept waiting for possession for six years. at the same place he sold phase 9 and gathered billions. when people never wanted to surrender as they needed homes, he imposed additional 570000 per plot more than double of first selling and gathered billions.
In the same way in lahore he launched sector C and sold papers for billions. He used billions in DHA and almost doubled. At sector C he has launched sector E. Similarly he launched Overseas block and never delivered and made a graveyard of hundred of thousand of Muslims. Now at the same place he has launched Sector D.
He is proved to be a biggest fraudi and public killer. He should be hanged. Chief Justice and Media should focus on his public looting.
I believe Now Allah has decided to tighten his rope and his days are numbered. He is just trying firing in mist without vision. I have many documentary proofs with maps to claim what i have said.
