Microsoft finally launches Windows-based tablets catering to both iPad- and Amazon-dominated segments – Part 3

The Surface Pro tablets comes pre-installed with the full version of Windows 8. Not only does it have the full version of software but unlike the RT it also has preinstalled application on it.

The slate runs on Intel’s newest Ivy Bridge Core i5 quad-core processor, giving it the requisite kick to become suitably the replacement of laptops. Many laptops have embraced Ivy Bridge processor but it is the first time a tablet is equipped with the same specs.

Microsoft was not forthcoming on the specific details so not work on the RAM, graphics card or cellular connectivity. However, it does get USB 3.0 instead of USB 2.0 along with all the goodies from HDMI to SD card reader.
