Akshay Kumar’s ‘Rowdy Rathore’ among the top-5 Bollywood films of all times!

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is the talk of the town at this point in time since he has finally recorded his first solo blockbuster. As per the reports, ‘Rowdy Rathore’, which was released on June 1, has earned over Rs. 120 crore at the box office and it is still pulling a lot of people to the cinema halls. Perhaps this is a reason why the film has found a place in Top-5 Bollywood films of all times.

With the success of ‘Rowdy Rathore’, directed by Prabhu Deva, Akshay has also left behind the superstars of the industry like Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan.

“Rowdy Rathore has now comfortably surpassed 120 crores in its third weekend itself, hence leaving behind the likes of Ra.One (115 crore), Agneepath (120 crores) and for that matter even Salman Khan’s Ready (121 crores)”, confirmed a trade source.

Salman Khan is still ahead of Akshay, as his films like ‘Dabangg’ and ‘Bodyguard’ generated amounts over Rs 140 crore each. Nevertheless, it looks only a matter of time now before Akshay will surpass him because according to the sources ‘Rowdy Rathore’ is expected to gross more money than this.

“It would be quite difficult to cross that milestone though since in coming weeks, Akshay faces challenge from Shahid Kapoor (Teri Meri Kahaani) and The Amazing Spiderman which arrive back to back”, an insider added, “However Rowdy Rathore would now come close to the 135 crore mark, which is a huge achievement considering the fact that Akshay was facing rough weather during last year. Now with both Housefull 2 and Rowdy Rathore doing so well and Akshay finding a very strong positioning for him (with Aamir Khan ruling from the top, courtesy 3 Idiots at 202 crores), things have heated up all over again.”

Well, Akshay Kumar returned to the action movies after a gap of seven years and he once again proved that he is the original ‘Khiladi’ of the Bollywood industry. Let’s see what the actor brings for his fans now.
