Terming it a tragedy for the country, PML-N President Nawaz Sharif has said newly elected Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf will not write a letter to Swiss authorities to reopen graft cases against his boss.

Addressing a public gathering in Sindh, the former two-times prime minister said Asif Ali Zardari was using scapegoats to conceal his corruption.

He, “Raja Pervaiz Ashraf will not write a letter to the Swiss authorities and consequently he will also be fired. How many men will Zardari bring in as scapegoats to cover up his corruption?”

He, however, said the newly elected premier will be sent home and meet the same fate as Yousaf Raza Gilani if he does not dispatch letter to Switzerland.

He also expressed astonishment over the election of Raja Pervez Ashraf as chief executive of the country. “I am surprises at the PPP’s choice for candidate of the premiership and how coalition partners would justify voting for Raja Pervez Ashraf”.

He said he was in the province to awaken the Sindhi people against corrupt rulers instead of canvassing for his party.

He added, “Think about Pakistan. Think about the future of the country, and you will know who is there to serve Pakistan and who is plundering national wealth”.

He was of the opinion that he and Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani could have been friends and he could save him from the embarrassment of being disqualified if the former ruler had listened to him and followed the path of true democracy.

He lamented that Gilani destroyed his entire political career for safeguarding corrupt practices of his boss, Asif Ali Zardari. He also criticized the provincial government for not making any efforts to improve the living standard of people.

He said, “People are fed up with the perennial issues of load shedding and inflation. While they spend their whole day sweating and toiling to earn a living, the skyrocketing price of daily-use items is breaking their backs”.

In his view, the incumbent had miserably failed to resolve the energy crisis; hence, the masses are demanding fresh polls in the country.
