PML-N should abstain from petitions’ politics: Rehman Malik

Islamabad: (Tuesday, June 26, 2012) Rehman Malik, the advisor to the Prime Minister on Internal Affairs said here today that all the conspiracy petitions find their roots in the palace of Raiwind. He said it was
Punjab’s Law Minister Rana Sanaullah who was busy in hatching all the petitions against Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP).

Talking to the journalists outside the Supreme Court, he said that the petition mafia was opposed to the PPP-led government. He also urged the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) to shun the politics of ‘petitions’.

Commenting on the cross border incursion of militant groups from Afghanistan into Pakistan, he said that the government has sought for written guarantee from the Afghan Government that Dir like incident would not take place in
future.

He also vowed that strict actions would be taken to keep a check on the terrorism incidents by the Taliban.

At the end of his comments, he expressed the government’s resolve to eliminate terrorism so that the Taliban forces can be defeated. He was of the view that first rank leadership of Taliban was already overcome, and it was the
low-level leaders of the TTP that were still operating.
