Young Doctors’ Association Strike: Govt. gives 3-day ultimatum

Lahore: (Wednesday, June 27, 2012) Responding to the Young Doctors’ strike asking for higher pay scales, the Punjab government has given them an ultimatum of three days to end the strike and to resume their duties or else be ready
to face legal action.

Commenting on the situation, Khawaja Salman Rafiq, the advisor to Chief Minister Punjab, termed the strike by the young doctors as illegal and immoral. He said that it was because of these doctors that thousands of patients were
suffering.

Rafiq also said that strike in the emergency wards would not be tolerated at any cost.
