Lahore Bridge Collapse leaves one dead

Lahore: A man lost his life when a part of the pedestrian bridge collapsed at Ring Road in Harbanspura, Lahore today morning.

According to the details, the bridge came down when a truck was passing underneath it. The fall of the bridge resulted in tapping two persons under its rubble.

Later on, it was discovered that one man died under the rubble. The bridge collapse blocked the road from airport to Harbanspura.

After the accident, rescue teams reached the spot and after receiving the news about bridge collapse, the Commissioner Lahore also visited the site.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has also ordered an inquiry into the matter to present the probe report of the incident.

He also informed an investigating team comprising of MIT, Secretary C&W, Dean of UET and Chief Engineer South.
