Bollywood star Aamir Khan is in the news since the time he started hosting ‘Satyamev Jayate’ but this time another superstar of the Hindi cinema, Salman Khan, has turned crusader.

Salman, who has always been known for his friendly gestures and countless acts of charity, has appealed to Pakistan for the release of Sarabjit Singh, an Indian prisoner who is in a Pakistani jail for the past over 22 years.

“Requesting the people of Pakistan to support me to help free Sarabjit who has been in prison since 30 years. Please. Allah ka vasta,” Salman wrote on twitter.

Recently, reports from Pakistan came that an Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh was being released after President Asif Ali Zardari granted him pardon. However, later on Tuesday night the presidential spokesman clarified that the authorities have been mistaken and the actual prisoner who is being released by the government is Surjeet Singh, who was jailed for in the country for the past 30 years.

Nevertheless, Salam after seeing a picture of Sarabjit’s sister couldn’t help himself out and came out in full support. The big-hearted ‘Being Human’ icon, who also has a huge fan following in Pakistan, stated that he felt really sad after seeing Sarabjit’s sister and he wanted to tweet this for the long time.

He stated, “Request the ‘awam’ of Pakistan, members of the press, government of Pakistan, President Zardari, a humble request. It would be the most amazing gesture, to send Sarabjit back to his family after 30 years. Hope u support me like its your own cause.”

“Wanted to tweet this for the longest time, saw a picture of Sarabjit’s sister, it killed me. Felt real sad for her. Help me help her. It’s a personal request to all of you in Pakistan to send Sarabjit back to his family in Punjab, hope you find it in your hearts to help,” he said.

Well, all said and done, let’s see if Salman Khan gets any response from the Pakistani government.
