Amir Khan: The Garcias cannot get under my skin by their insensible jabbering

Danny Garcia and his father Angel Garcia are not willing put a period to their trash talking, but this does not seem to affect Amir Khan at all.

In a recent media interaction, Khan commented that all the trash talking, insulting remarks, and racist comments thrown by Angel Garcia does not intimidate him, adding that the father-son couple is trying to get under his skin but unfortunately their efforts will go in vain.

Amir shared his view point on the racial slurs uttered by Angel Garcia in a recent press conference, where he not only bashed Khan for being an orchestrated brawler but also criticised Freddie Roach, Khan’s trainer, for being a flimsy mentor.

Garcia Senior even went a step ahead, saying Khan’s God is cruel (since Amir has denoted both of his losses as God’s will) whereas his own God is good and loving. Amir and Danny will enter the ring on July 14, 2012 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino situated in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.

The battle for the best will have Danny’s WBC light welterweight and Khan’s formerly owned WBA super world light welterweight title on the line. Amir shared his thoughts while undergoing a warm-up session in Wild Card Gym.

Khan was of the view that he does not care about what his opponent’s camp is saying, adding that he has experienced such situations several times and understands well that all these tactics are just to divert the targeted individual’s concentration and mind set.

The Bolton proud, in a care-free manner, stated, “I’ve just ignored everything he has said. He’s trying to get under my skin. He can say what he wants, it’s not going to get to me. Even his dad has been doing it. I’ve had a lot of professional fights and I’ve been in this position before with people trash talking.”

When asked as to why the Garcias are so aggressive, the former world champion stated, “I think they know deep down that I’m the better fighter. I’m more skilful. They can’t beat me any other way other than trying to beat me mentally.”

Khan added that all this jabbering just motivates him to work harder with great concentration. Amir stated, “It just motivates me to train harder when opponents start mouthing off to get into that ring and knock him out.”

The verbal bashing and throwing of slurs will increase as the duo inch towards most probably one of the significant bouts of their career. This will be the first time that Garcia will defend his world title whereas for Khan the clash will most probably be the last one at 140-pounds.
