Sachin Tendulkar has no plans to quit ODIs

India’s master blaster batsman Sachin Tendulkar has dismissed the speculations about his One Day International retirement, saying that he skipped Sri Lanka tour just to spend time with his family.

Tendulkar decided to make himself unavailable for the upcoming ODI clash against the islander and it created many rumours about his retirement. Clearing the air, the superstar, 39, said that he has no plans to quit limited-over cricket.

"It’s not about what XYZ thinks, it’s about what I feel and I feel as long as I am enjoying and I feel like being part of it, I’ll continue (playing one-dayers). I think it (speculation over retirement) has been going on since 2006. It’s been six years now.
I am enjoying cricket and as long as I am passionate about cricket it makes sense being part of team sport," Tendulkar told a news channel.

The maestro is world’s top run-scorer in both ODI and Test cricket. He also holds the record of scoring most number of international centuries.

The right-hander decided to stop playing T20 cricket in 2007 and taking about decision to quit the shortest version of the game, he stated that he felt he should not be part of the T20 squad.

"I felt I should not be part of T20 squad because the team did well. When I get that feeling in one-day cricket maybe I would take that decision.  When I feel like taking that decision (to quit one-day cricket) I will take that. I don’t want the rest of
the guys to take that decision for me," he added.

The Mumbai-born batsman has played in 463 ODI, scoring over-18000 runs including 49 tons. He has played an unbeaten innings of 200 runs too.

Tendulkar’s stats in Test cricket are equally impressive, as he has gathered 15470 runs in 188 matches so far. Although he is at the twilight of his career, his appetite for runs is as young as ever.

Sri Lanka and India are all set to meet in a complete bilateral ODI series before a T20 match. The ODI clash will begin with the opening game at Hambantota on July 21^st.
