Amir Khan, the former IBF and WBA super world light welterweight champion, revealed he is going through the last most intensive phase of his training, adding that he is not underestimating Danny Garcia, the current WBC light welterweight champion, at all.

Khan and Garcia junior will meet at the Mandalay Bay Resorts & Casino for the WBC light welterweight and the WBA light welterweight titles.

With just a week left in the epic July 14, 2012 clash, the duo is preparing extremely hard at their respective camps to keep the vows they have made in the past one month. Despite being targeted personally on several occasions by the Garcias, Khan has maintained his calm and confidence.

Amir released a public letter for a news agency, saying he is not underestimating Danny Garcia in any possible manner, adding that he understands it pretty well that Garcia junior is hungry and above all is a young brawler.

The Bolton lad stated, “Danny Garcia is a young fighter and is hungry for this so I’m not overlooking or underestimating him.” Khan also shared his official stance on the racial and ethnic slurs uttered by the Garcia camp and remarked, “There’s been a lot that has come out from his camp over the past few days but I’m not letting it affect me and I’m just getting on with my job. My business is in the boxing ring, that’s where I will be doing my talking. Everything that has been said I’m just using it as motivation and it’s made me even more determined to make sure it’s my hand that is raised at the end of the night.”

Khan also shed some light on the fact of him keenly viewing Danny’s fight videos along with Freddie Roach just to find the weaknesses of the Pennsylvanian proud.

Amir commented that he and Roach have discovered certain deficiencies in Garcia junior’s style, adding that he will try his level best to not only exploit them but use those deficiencies optimally in grabbing a win.

Danny will defend his newly acquired WBC light welterweight title whereas the recently vacated WBA super world light welterweight title will also be up for grabs.
