Amir Khan vs. Danny Garcia: Khan appreciates Garcia as a fighter

British-Pakistani fighter Amir Khan, ignoring Danny Garcia and his father’s comments, went onto appreciate the unbeaten American fighter. According to Khan, Garcia is unbeaten, young and hungry to win, and all these traits will make the fight worthwhile.

“He’s tough, young and fast,” said Khan when asked about Danny Garcia, his July 14 opponent.

He added, “Any undefeated fighter is dangerous and he’ll be full of confidence. It’ll be a great fight, two young guys coming at each other. I hope it’s the sort of fight that will bring excitement back to the sport.”

Despite being vigorously slammed by Danny and his father Angel Garcia, Khan maintains his positive reviews regarding his opponent. However, the Bolton proud does make a mark to keep himself one level ahead of Danny.

In his last week media session, Khan spoke about Danny and Angel Garcia’s comments.

“I’ve just ignored everything he has said. He’s trying to get under my skin. He can say what he wants, it’s not going to get to me. Even his dad has been doing it. I’ve had a lot of professional fights and I’ve been in this position before with people trash talking. It just motivates me to train harder when opponents start mouthing off to get into that ring and knock him out. It just makes them look stupid because it will not get under my skin or break my mental focus.”

Amir Khan will take on Danny Garcia on July 14 at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas. The fight will be for Garcia’s WBC light welterweight title and the vacant WBA light welterweight title.

On getting the chance of uniting two titles once again, Khan expressed his joy last week, saying he is happy and grateful to the World Boxing Association for putting the title on line.

Garcia will probably be Khan’s last opponent in the division, as the British fighter plans on moving up in weight after this showdown.
